#1. Treat digital elements as if they exist in the physical world
Our brains expect digital objects to follow the laws of the physical and spatial world. The Sun is above us and provides light. Objects don't float in the air without reason or disappear without explanation. If you put a tool in a drawer and close it, the tool will still be in the drawer and the drawer will open opposite the way it was closed.
Law #2: Balance is key to composition. And asymmetry, rather than symmetry, is key to natural balance.
